Auckland progressive death metal band ULCERATE has signed with major international label Relapse Records.
Drummer Jamie Saint Merat commented on the signing saying, “Working with Relapse is a very logical next step for us, and we’re really looking forward to the partnership. Their presence of quality releases regardless of genre, overarching aesthetic and attention to detail is something that we find very natural to align with, as well as being fans of the label’s releases well before the band was even started.”
ULCERATE’s latest album ‘The Destroyers of All’ was released in early 2011 and received international critical acclaim for its blend of ambitious songwriting and unorthodox extremity.
The band will play New Zealand shows during December 2011 and January 2012 before undertaking a 23 date tour of Europe with SVART CROWN in February and then US shows in May. Work on a fourth album is planned to begin in the new year.
ULCERATE is Paul Kelland (Vocals / bass), Michael Hoggard (guitar), William Cleverdon (guitar), and Jamie Saint Merat (drums). The band formed in 2000 under the name of BLOODWREATH and has released three full-length albums to date.
