Finnish symphonic metal band NIGHTWISH will release their new album ‘Imaginaerum’ on 5 December 2011.
‘Imaginaerum’ is the band’s first album since ‘Dark Passion Play’ released in 2007 and will be the second album to feature singer Anette Olzon who replaced Tarja Truinen in 2007.
NIGHTWISH’s Tuomas Holopainen said the aim was to create something unique with the new album.
“The original idea I had was to film 13 short stories related to the songs with a connected storyline, shot by Stobe Harju. It was important from the very beginning that the album would work as its own individual piece of art, as well. It is a thematic album about life itself, about imagination, love, goodness and beauty, with a touch of darkness and melancholy.
NIGHTWISH will play a part in the film which premieres in 2012.
